What Standish Chapter 220 says
The Town of Standish Code, Chapter 220, separates adult-use establishments from medical cannabis activity:
- Section 220-3(A) expressly prohibits adult-use retail stores, products manufacturing facilities, testing facilities, and social clubs.
- Section 220-3(B) bars a business from engaging in adult-use retail sales covered by the ordinance.
- Section 220-3(C) says the chapter is not intended to prohibit lawful use, possession, or conduct under the Maine Medical Use of Cannabis Act.
This distinction explains why Standish can have a medical dispensary while prohibiting the adult-use categories named in its local ordinance.
