Terms of Service
Last Updated: July 11, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using mainedispensaryguide.com (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, do not use the Site. We may update these Terms from time to time as described in Section 10, and your continued use of the Site after a posted change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. Description of Service
Maine Dispensary Guide is an editorial resource for people building and operating licensed cannabis businesses in Maine. The Site currently publishes 109 city and town guides covering municipal licensing, zoning, and operating realities across the state; a library of technical guides for cultivators, manufacturers, retailers, and testing laboratories; a free ROI calculator that models revenue, cost of goods, and capital requirements under current Maine tax and regulatory structure; and lead-capture forms that connect readers with vetted attorneys, CPAs, architects, and service providers.
The Site is free to read. Some content and tools generate revenue through affiliate links (see Section 9) and through clearly labeled sponsored placements. We do not sell Maine cannabis directly, do not hold a cannabis license of any kind, and are not a participant in the cannabis supply chain. We are an information publisher serving the people who operate Maine-licensed cannabis businesses.
3. User Obligations
You agree to use the Site for lawful purposes only and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict, or inhibit anyone else's use and enjoyment of the Site. Specifically, you agree not to:
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract content from the Site at scale, whether manually or by automated means, including the use of bots, spiders, scrapers, headless browsers, or large language models, without our prior written consent.
- Republish, redistribute, or syndicate any content from the Site, in whole or in part, on another site, in a newsletter, in a print publication, or in any artificial intelligence training dataset, except as permitted under Section 4.
- Access cannabis-related content on the Site if you are under 21 years of age. Maine law restricts access to cannabis business information as well as to cannabis products, and the licensing pathways we cover are adult professions.
- Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Site, breach authentication, or interfere with its operation, including by introducing viruses, malware, or excessive load.
- Submit form data, lead-capture information, or contact requests that you know to be false, fraudulent, or submitted on behalf of a third party without authorization.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these obligations, with or without prior notice, and to pursue any remedies available at law or in equity.
4. Intellectual Property
All content on mainedispensaryguide.com — including text, graphics, code, data compilations, layout, photography, and the underlying selection and arrangement of material — is the property of Maine Dispensary Guide or its licensors and is protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and database-protection laws. The Site and all of its content are © 2026 Maine Dispensary Guide. All rights reserved.
You may read, save, and print individual pages for personal, non-commercial reference. If you wish to republish excerpts in a research paper, trade publication, or journalistic article, the official citation mechanism is the cite-this page at /cite/<slug>-<hash> — every editorial page exposes a permanent, content-addressed permalink there. Use that URL as your canonical citation. Do not paraphrase large passages without attribution.
You may not translate the entire Site or any substantial portion of it into another language, mirror it on another domain, or include it in any product or dataset offered to third parties without a written license from us. For licensing inquiries, contact us at the address in Section 12.
5. Disclaimers — Not Professional Advice
The content on this Site is published for general informational purposes only. It is not legal advice, financial advice, tax advice, medical advice, or a substitute for consultation with a licensed professional. No attorney-client, advisor-client, or fiduciary relationship is created by your use of the Site, the submission of a lead-capture form, or any communication with us. Always consult a Maine-licensed attorney, CPA, or other qualified professional before acting on information that affects your business, taxes, license, or compliance posture.
Specifically with respect to operator and licensing data: the names, addresses, license types, and license numbers for Maine cannabis operators that appear in our city guides and operator profiles are compiled from publicly available filings with the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP) and municipal authorities. We make reasonable efforts to verify these records, but licensing status changes frequently. Before you rely on any operator record for a transaction, lease, supply contract, investment, or due diligence, verify the current status against the OCP's public records and the relevant municipal license file.
If you find an error in any data we have published, please report it. Our public corrections log at /about/corrections is the audit trail of every material correction we have made, with the date, the prior value, the corrected value, and the source. That log is the definitive record of fact changes on this Site.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and all content, tools, and services provided through it are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any third-party data referenced on the Site is accurate, current, or reliable.
In no event will Maine Dispensary Guide, its owner, employees, contractors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Site, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).
7. Third-Party Links
The Site contains links to third-party websites, resources, and references that we believe are useful to Maine cannabis operators. These include links to the Maine Office of Cannabis Policy, the Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Metrc, municipal planning offices, attorney and CPA firm sites, and trade publications. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site. Once you leave the Site, the terms and privacy policies of the destination site apply to your activity there.
Where we link to a trade publication, news outlet, or industry partner under a reciprocity arrangement, the link functions as an outbound editorial reference and as a gesture of professional goodwill. Reciprocity links do not constitute endorsement of the linked site's products, services, or claims. We do not accept payment for inclusion in our link graph and we do not guarantee reciprocal linking back.
8. Privacy
Your privacy is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference. The Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under Maine law. By using the Site, you confirm that you have read and accept the Privacy Policy.
9. Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on the Site are affiliate links, meaning we may receive a commission if you sign up for or purchase a product or service through them. We never let affiliate relationships change our editorial recommendations, and we disclose every material connection in compliance with FTC 16 CFR Part 255. The complete list of current affiliate partners, our editorial-independence policy, and the technical signals we use to mark paid placements are set out in detail on our Affiliate Disclosure page, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
10. Modifications to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service as our services evolve, as Maine cannabis regulations change, or as required by law or applicable program policies. When we make a material change, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page, post a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days, and — where the change materially affects your rights — send an email notification to subscribers on our mailing list. Non-material changes, such as clarifications of wording, fixes of typographical errors, or updates to contact information, will be posted without a homepage notice.
Your continued use of the Site after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with a change, your sole remedy is to stop using the Site.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Maine, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
12. Contact
Questions about these Terms, requests for licensing or republication permission, or formal notices should be sent to hello@mainedispensaryguide.com. For data rights requests, see our Privacy Policy. For affiliate or editorial-disclosure concerns, see our Affiliate Disclosure. We respond to substantive inquiries within five business days.
